Historical Bid

Historical Bid is a world-building game for 3-6 players, adaptable to all kinds of settings and purposes.

This is an adaptation of “Final Bid” by Vel Mini. It is not made with support or endorsement from the author of the original product. The primary text for the game is largely copied from “Final Bid”, or adapted when necessary to refer to the altered focus and contents.

This is a game where players take on the roles of groups and powers making plays over larger time-scales, recorded in a timeline history. The scope ranges from the concerns of a few thousand people to entire universes. It can be used in its original intent as a world-building tool for cooperative fiction, as a setup for other projects, or you can simply enjoy it for what it is without using it to inform any future endeavors. History can be thrilling, especially when you get to skip directly to the most exciting parts!

The playsets of this game are called “Timelines”, and fulfill the same purpose as “Movies” in Final Bid. Historical Bid currently has three Timelines:

"Blood and Crown" is a timeline about powers within a political sphere vying against each other while nominally maintaining loyalty to the whole.

"Imperial Age" is a timeline about nations growing and struggling against each other on the global stage.

"Dawn of Divinity" is a timeline about powers that shape the world itself, in the time when the gods walked the world.
